Privacy Policy

The short version

DockPod is self-hosted software — once you install it on your own server, it runs there, and we don't have access to it. This page (dockpod.io) is a small marketing and license-purchase site, and this policy covers what that site collects. It's short because there isn't much to collect.

The website vs. the software

There are two different things called "DockPod" and this policy treats them differently:

What the Site collects

When you buy a Pro license, the purchase form asks for your name, email address, and your DockPod install's Machine ID. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details. We do store the purchase record itself: name, email, machine ID, the Stripe checkout/payment identifiers, the license key we issued, and the purchase date.

We use this to generate and email your license key, to help you if you lose it or need it reissued, and for basic accounting.

Outside of a purchase, browsing the Site or the docs doesn't submit anything to us — there's no account system, no tracking pixels, and no analytics script installed on either site.

What the Software collects

Nothing, from us. License validation happens fully offline: keys are Ed25519-signed and checked locally against a public key embedded in the binary. Your DockPod install never phones home to check a license, report usage, or send telemetry of any kind.

Cookies

The Site itself doesn't set any cookies. If you go through checkout, Stripe's own hosted payment page may set cookies needed to process the payment — that's covered by Stripe's privacy policy, not this one.

Third parties

The only third party involved is Stripe, for payment processing, and our email provider, to send your license key. We don't sell or share your information with anyone else, and we don't run ads.

Data retention

We keep purchase records for as long as reasonably needed for support, license reissue, and accounting purposes.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we have on file, correct it, or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. Deleting a purchase record may mean we can no longer help you recover a lost license key, so let us know if you'd rather we just correct something instead.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be called out here rather than silently edited in.
